Common Grounds Committee Overview
La Ventana Common Grounds Committee Chair responsibility guideline:
The Chair selects and supports the committee members in observing and maintaining the overall look and feel of the community. Various projects may be assigned to individuals or sub committees to handle based on their expertise and time commitment availability. The Chair is responsible for scheduling meetings, presenting costs and budget proposals to the Board, and mediating discussions related to general community wants and needs. Regarding questions and comments from neighbors about Common Grounds areas, the Chair either responds directly or assigns a committee member best suited with expertise in an area to follow-up.
For major projects, community opinions and thoughts are sought for consideration. For basic maintenance tasks, the Chair will confer with committee members for the best course of action on behalf of the entire community.
Areas and projects under the purview of the Common Grounds Committee include:
General Pool maintenance – Service Contractor selection, scheduling, defining scope of work, supervision and follow-up. The committee will act in a support and supervisory role for any major renovation or construction in the Pool area.
Landscaping – Contractor selection, scheduling, defining scope of work, supervision and follow-up. Mowing along roadways and medians, in common areas, driving range, Towers entrance, Main Gate, lakes, ponds, creek, around Clubhouse and playground areas, and perimeter fencing. Tree monitoring and maintenance is on an ongoing basis.
Street maintenance – The committee will work with the Board on specific road repairs or improvements and signage as needed.
Tennis/Pickleball court and Golf driving range – monitoring and ensuring the areas are maintained as required and arrange for contractor services as needed.
The Common Grounds Committee Chair will provide reports to the Board, as needed, when any Board action is required.
The Chair responsibility guidelines are subject to change and are variable with future direction from the Board.
